How to decipher good ribbon from the not so good.

People ask me this all the time. Kelly, how do I know if I'm purchasing a good ribbon? The easiest way to check is if you can feel it and bend it. If it feels good and stiff and it bends really well and holds straight up in the air 5 inches or more you can say you have a really great ribbon. When the ribbon is under the plastic sleeve it is hard to tell, some ribbons look like the best ribbon on the planet until you touch it or see if the wire is good and strong and will hold straight up in the air at 5 inches or more. The only other way to know if you are purchasing a great ribbon is if you trust the company you are purchasing from, do they have great reviews, do they perform lives for you to see the product and show you the details of the ribbon and the stiffness? If you answered yes, then you are in a good buying position. Trusting your buyer is a must. You can use a lesser quality of ribbon in a bow with other ribbons and hopefully will achieve the look you are going for. However, if you want to sell products for a fair market price you must seek out worthy ribbons. You might think I'm a ribbon snob, I'm really not. I just love great quality ribbons that are going to stand up to the test of time. I want my customers to be able to use an outdoor arrangement for more than one season. When purchasing ribbons for our collections to sell on our website, I work very hard at selecting great quality ribbons. We want our customers to be happy with their purchases and to be thrilled with the ribbons they are designing with. I believe we achieve this daily and this makes my heart happy!
